In order to protect the interests of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and all of the organizations that fall beneath its umbrella of responsibility, content filtering and real time monitoring are utilized extensively within the Archdiocesan network.

Before purchasing software there are a couple of simple things that you need to check to be sure that your computer can accommodate the new software.
One of the first things to check is the type of operating system that you use. This can be found (for pc’s) by going to the start button located at the bottom left of your screen. When you click on the start button, you will notice on the left hand side what operating system you are using. (i.e. windows 2000 professional, Windows ME, Windows XP, etc.) Another way to find out about your operating system is by clicking once on MY COMPUTER from the desktop. Next, right click and choose PROPERTIES. The window that appears will list your operating system and service packs that have been installed. The next thing to check is the RAM, which is listed on the same screen.

Archdiocesan parishes, offices and schools are increasingly creating web pages to foster and publicize their ministries. This technology may be of assistance and several of you have mentioned to me that you are pleased with your web pages. I anticipate the number of parish/office/school web pages will continue to increase. Because of this, I would like to bring to your attention three concerns of which you should be aware.
